Chief Justice Kilbride took no part in the decision. This election dispute comes from Will County. On December 6, 2010, Carmen Goodman, a Democrat, took office as a circuit judge of the 4th Judicial Subcircuit of the 12th Judicial Circuit, after defeating her Republican opponent in the November 2010 general election.
