.State of Illinois Pat Quinn, Governor Illinois Department of Transportation Ann Schneider, Secretary FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACTS: February 3, 2012 Joseph Monroe 618/246-3250 Press Release Update: Interstate Lane Closure Location I-57 between the Fayette County Line and Salem, Illinois COLLINSVILLE, ILLINOIS The Illinois Department of Transportation announces the lane closure on Interstate in Marion County will continue through 4:00 PM Friday, February 10, 2012, weather permitting. The right lane of southbound I-57 will be closed from mile marker to 134, just north of Kinmundy, Illinois. The closure is needed to make repairs to the pavement surface and install new pavement markings in these areas. The Department's District Operations forces will perform the needed roadway repairs. Crews from multiple locations will assist in this effort. Traffic control devices and directional signage, including dynamic message boards, have been deployed to alert motorists of these closures.
