  • Appellate citation: 367 Ill. App. 3d 895. JUSTICE KILBRIDE delivered the judgment of the court, with opinion. Chief Justice Thomas and Justices Fitzgerald, Garman, and Karmeier concurred in the judgment and opinion. Justice Freeman dissented, with opinion, upon denial of rehearing, joined by Justice Burke. This De Kalb County defendant was convicted by a jury for armed violence, home invasion and residential burglary, for which he received concurrent 24-year sentences. A concurrent term of 5 years was also imposed on that same jury's conviction for aggravated battery.
