  • Hennings, No. 3050016 (unpublished order under Supreme Court Rule 23). Patterson, No. 1040077 (unpublished order under Supreme Court Rule 23). JUSTICE KARMEIER delivered the judgment of the court, with opinion. Chief Justice Thomas and Justices Freeman, Fitzgerald, Kilbride, Garman, and Burke concurred in the judgment and opinion. Both Edward Hennings, who was convicted in 2001 in Will County, and Vincent Patterson, who was convicted in 1983 in Cook County, had sentencing issues which they raised by way of complaint for habeas corpus. Their complaints were denied, and the appellate court affirmed.
