- JUSTICE FREEMAN delivered the judgment of the court, with opinion. Justices Thomas, Kilbride, Garman, Karmeier, and Burke concurred in the judgment and opinion. Chief Justice Fitzgerald took no part in the decision. Michael Applebaum is a physician who also has a law degree. He passed the bar exam and received a license to practice, but later went on inactive status.
