  • Appellate citation: No. 4-07-0679 (unpublished order under Supreme Court Rule 23). JUSTICE KILBRIDE delivered the judgment of the court, with opinion. Chief Justice Fitzgerald and Justices Freeman, Thomas, and Karmeier concurred in the judgment and opinion. Justice Garman specially concurred, with opinion, joined by Justice Burke. In late 2005, a Decatur man was beaten and stabbed to death by a group of assailants who first searched for him and then chased him. Defendant Davison was a member of this group. In the circuit court of Macon County, a jury convicted him for first degree felony murder, with the predicate felony being mob action. The appellate court affirmed.
