.STATE OF ILLINOIS ILLINOIS COMMERCE COMMISSION MidAmerican Energy Company Petition for Waiver of C.F.R. 192.285(a)(2) and C.F.R. 192.285(c). : 07-0503 ORDER By the Commission: On October 3, 2007, MidAmerican Energy Company (''MEC'') filed verified petition with the Illinois Commerce Commission (''Commission'') seeking an order granting MEC permanent waiver of certain federal safety standards concerning the transportation of natural gas by pipeline. Through an amended petition filed on November 16, 2007, MEC clarified that it seeks permanent waiver of Section 192.285(c) of Title of the Code of Federal Regulations (''CFR''). Part of Title of the CFR concerns the minimum federal safety standards for the transportation of natural and other gas by pipeline. Section 192.285(a) requires that persons making plastic pipe joints be qualified under the applicable joining procedures.
