App. 3d 895. JUSTICE KILBRIDE delivered the judgment of the court, with opinion. Chief Justice Thomas and Justices Freeman, Fitzgerald, Garman, Karmeier, and Burke concurred in the judgment and opinion. This De Kalb County defendant was convicted by jury for armed violence, home invasion and residential burglary, for which he received concurrent 24-year sentences. concurrent term of years was also imposed on that same jury's conviction for aggravated battery. On July 20, 2001, the appellate court vacated the armed violence and residential burglary convictions for proportionate penalties issues.
