They will investigate the caseto collect evidence and, if possible, arrest suspect. If the police arrest suspect, they willfile report with the state's attorney, or the prosecutor. The prosecutor will review the case and mayconvene grand jury, which will decide whether to issue an indictment charging thesuspect.
