The Illinois Crime Victimization Survey attempted to gauge the extent and nature of crime victimization experienced by residents years and older. Specific goals of the survey included estimating the rate of personal and property crime victimization statewide and regionally, providing details about the nature of crime victimization in Illinois, and assessing public knowledge and utilization of crime victim services in Illinois.
