The recommended amount of physical activity for youth is minimum of minutes daily. Service learning programs can foster community health while also helping participating students achieve recommended standards for physical activity. Walking School Bus Set up program where older children or parents walk younger kids to school. These programs encourage physical activity and improve neighborhood safety by providing "eyes on the street." Walk Across Illinois Walk Across Illinois is health initiative that encourages everyone to walk at least miles over the course of year, the equivalent of walking from the Mississippi River to Lake Michigan. Kids and community members can beneO/t from community walking program. Have weekly walks through different neighborhoods with tours led by volunteers. W
