Description
The Illinois Department of Employment Security IDES provides services to the people of Illinois by authority of the Illinois Unemployment Insurance Act, the Federal Wagner-Peyser Act, and the Federal Workforce Investment Act WIA of 1998. Historically, IDES' mission has been to administer the Unemployment Insurance, Employment Service and Labor Market Information programs in Illinois. Under Illinois' WIA Implementation Plan, IDES is also the agency designated as Illinois' employment statistics agency. Content of the 2006 Services Plan is Introduction, Central Administration, Workforce Investment Act, Illinois Employment and Training Centers Programs, Labor Market and Career Information and Unemployment Insurance.
