Description
This report is presented in four sections, beginning with a brief narrative and summary of data describing the condition of education in Illinois. That is followed by a description of key programs and initiatives supported by the State Board during the past 18 months, organized under the 15 points of the Board's "Leadership Agenda." The third section of the report presents information about the State Board of Education and two outstanding contributors to Illinois education -- the Teacher of the Year and the Outstanding Local Board President. The final section of the report provides statistical data that either supports the narrative or is otherwise required by statute. An index to the topics of the past year's Superintendent's Bulletins is provided at the end as an appendix.
