2009 Illinois Firearm Deer Season Preliminary Harvest Totals 99,419 Deer (2009, December 9) [1692**09]
Press Release: Deer hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary total of 99,419 deer during the seven-day firearm deer hunting season on Nov. 20-22 and Dec. 3-6. The preliminary harvest total compares with 105,595 deer taken by hunters during the 2008 firearm season. Gun and bow hunting opportunities remain for deer hunters.

21st Annual Toxic Chemical Report (covers Jan. 1, 2007-Dec. 31, 2007)
Under the federal Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act of 1986, affected companies must report "on- and off-site disposal or other releases" to the environment of more than 650 toxic chemicals. This report documents reported releases for each calendar year.

Annual report by the Illinois State Geological Survey to the Illinois Department of Transportation. Hydrologic data was collected from wetland compensation sites and potential wetland compensation sites being monitored under contract. Where appropriate, the report also includes a determination of areas meeting wetland hydrology criteria listed in the 1987 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual and its online updates.

Asian Carp Rapid Response Workgroup finishes operation on Cal-Sag Channel (2009, December 8) [1689**09]
Press Release: The Asian Carp Rapid Response Workgroup has completed fishing operations near the T.J. OBrien Lock in an attempt to locate Asian carp after eDNA sampling in the area tested positive for the invasive species. The Workgroup used commercial fishermen and federal fisheries personnel to deploy nearly 3,000 yards of fishing nets along a 5.5-mile stretch of the Cal-Sag Channel. While the nets were successful in collecting more than 800 fish, no Asian carp were found. The catch included more than 700 common carp and 10 other species.
