Chicago Women's Health Risk Study at a Glace, The
The Chicago Womens Health Risk Study (CWHRS) was designed to give nurses, beat officers and other primary support people information they need to know in order to help women who are experiencing violence at the hands of an intimate partner lower the risk of life-threatening injury or death. Previous research did not provide this practical information. The purpose of the CWHRS was to identify factors indicating significant danger of life-threatening injury or death in situations in which an intimate partner is physically abusing a woman. We accomplished this by conducting a study that compared longitudinal data on abused women with similar data on women who had been killed by or who killed her intimate partner.
Chicago Women's Health Risk Study: A Report to the National Institute of Justice, June 2000
To help a broad array of practitioners identify women at greatest risk, the Chicago Womens Health Risk Study explored factors indicating significant danger of death or life-threatening injury in intimate violence situations. A collaboration of Chicago medical, public health and criminal justice agencies, and domestic violence advocates, the CWHRS compared longitudinal interviews with physically abused women sampled at hospital and health centers with similar interviews of people who knew intimate partner homicide victims.
Community Policing in Chicago, Year Seven: An interim Report (2000)
This is the sixth in a series of reports examining Chicago's community policing program, CAPS (for Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy). This report examines progress in implementing selected components of the program. The evaluation was conducted by the Chicago Community Policing Evaluation Consortium, coordinated by the Institute for Policy Research, Northwestern University.

The Criminal Justice Plan for the State of Illinois was unanimously adopted by the members of the Authority in June 2001. This issue of The Compiler takes a look at the Criminal Justice Plan and highlights some of the major initiatives the Authority and our partners have undertaken to achieve the plans goals and objectives.

Limitations in the collection and analysis of data made it difficult to track trends in victimization and direct resources to where they were most needed. This issue focuses on the InfoNet project, which has gained national recognition for deploying the latest technologies to enhance data collection and reporting efforts, while creating a unique set of victim service data which is not available anywhere else in the country. The Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault and the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence, with their member agencies across the state, have been the major partners in the development of InfoNet. The system allows agencies to confidentially gather case-level information on clients, including the victims circumstances, services provided, and details of court proceedings.
