Catalogue of Reports to the General Assembly (2000, covering Calendar Year 1999)
The School Code 105 ILCS 5/2-3.87 requires the State Board of Education to submit annually to the General Assembly and Governor a "catalogue containing each report which the State Board of Education was required to make during the preceding 12-month period to the General Assembly or to the General Assembly and Governor." During calendar year 1999, eighteen reports were submitted to the General Assembly in compliance with statutory provisions. Most of the reports contain multiple items on a variety of topical areas, which are useful to lawmakers in considering the effectiveness of educational programs. This catalogue identifies the material that was formally transmitted to meet legal requirements.

Holocaust, Black History and History of Women Unit of Instruction Report (covers 1999)
Pursuant to the requirements of Section 2-3.110 of the Illinois School Code [105 ILCS 5/2-3.110] the following information is presented to "conduct a statistical, random sample of school districts in every educational service region that will enable it to determine the manner in which the Holocaust, Black History and History of Women unit of instruction studies required by Sections 27-20.3, 27-20.4 and 27-20.5 [105 ILCS 5/27-20.3, 105 ILCS 5/27-20.4, and 105 ILCS 5/27-20.5] are being implemented in the common schools." In accordance with the statute, the report includes, for each of the three units of instruction categories, the findings for each of the three units of instruction categories, the findings with respect to the average amount of instruction time qualifying as a unit of instruction and the curricula and grades in which that instruction is being offered.
