Making Illinois Schools Second to None (2003, covering FY 2002-2004)
This joint Annual Report and Proposed Budget Document has been compiled for the Governor and General Assembly in compliance with three statutes: Sections 5/1A-4E, 5/2-3.11 and 5/2-3.47 of the School Code. As required, this report includes an analysis of the condition of education in Illinois and a plan of action to address identified needs and problems to meet the challenge of preparing students for the 21st Century. It also includes data, when available, to summarize the accomplishments made in Fiscal Year 2002.

Service Matters Newsletter (2006, Fall)
This issue of the newsletter of the Illinois Learn And Serve America Program includes items on the 12th annual conference on an expanded service-learning program for Illinois with an emphasis on highquality training and technical assistance. Lt. Governor Quinn reached an intergovernmental agreement with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) for Illinois Learn and Serve America program. Learn and Serve America grants were awarded over $550,000 to 44 school districts and regional programs in an effort to promote student involvement in both the classroom and their community.

As required by Section 2-3.25g of the School Code (105 ILCS 5/2-3.25g), the following report provides summaries of requests for waivers of School Code mandates being transmitted to the Illinois General Assembly for its consideration. Also included are summaries of requests for waivers and modifications acted on by the State Superintendent of Education in accordance with Section 1A-4 of the School Code (105 ILCS 5/1A-4) and of applications that have been returned to school districts or other eligible applicants.
