The Illinois Department of Employment Security IDES provides services to the people of Illinois by authority of the Illinois Unemployment Insurance Act, the Federal Wagner-Peyser Act, and the Federal Workforce Investment Act WIA of 1998. Historically, IDES' mission has been to administer the Unemployment Insurance, Employment Service and Labor Market Information programs in Illinois.
